Nammo Composite Solutions can design and fabricate braided reinforcements for advanced composites. Braided reinforcement can be in the form of an overbraid on a mandrel tool or formed as a continuous sleeve by a capstan.  Braiding can be used in conjunction with fabric, foam, and other composite material to create dry preforms.  Nammo performs triaxial braiding where two (2) bias angle yarns, such as ±60º, are intertwined with axial yarns (0º) thus creating a single ply of quasi-isotropic material at a ply thickness of approximately 0.032”. Braiding works well with RTM and VARTM molding technologies. RTM, or resin transfer molding, is a matched metal tooled laminating process whereby liquid resin is injected into a mold at pressures of 50psi to 300 psi. VARTM, or vacuum assisted resin transfer molding, in a resin infusion process whereby liquid resin is pulled across a single sided tool via vacuum pressure only.
